How long have you been with miLEAD? 

I’ve been with miLEAD since October 2024!

What is the focus of your research?

My research focuses on engineering proteins for new-to-nature reactivity and developing biocatalysts for small molecule synthesis.

What are your current career goals?

I currently plan to go into consulting, then transition into a role in equity research in the life sciences.

What roles have you played on projects? 

I have served as a consultant on two projects, and recently completed my first project as a project manager!

What led you to seek out miLEAD?

I wanted to gain experience working in a highly collaborative, team-based environment and tackling real-world problems with a solutions-oriented, data-driven approach. Additionally, I wanted to explore careers at the intersection of business and science - miLEAD is a strong place to make these connections!

Since joining miLEAD, what skills have you been able to develop?

During my time with miLEAD, I’ve gained a lot of skills! The most important to my future career goals are:

  • Easily contextualizing key client issues

  • Providing actionable recommendations with research

  • Managing project pipelines

  • Understanding pricing and market access across different healthcare sectors

  • Having client ready writing and presentation skills

What has been one of your most rewarding experiences thus far working with miLEAD? 

I really enjoy completing projects with supportive team members and building a community of like-minded, driven individuals across the University of Michigan graduate departments! miLEAD also exposed me to career development opportunities I would not have access to otherwise.
