How long have you been with miLEAD?

I joined miLEAD in Fall 2021.

What is the focus of your research?

I study how aging impairs the ability of our immune system to fight off respiratory infections in the hopes of one day improving the health-span of older adults.

What are your career goals?

I am currently interested in medical affairs and life science consulting with the goal of entering the job market in 2024.

What roles have you played on projects?

I am grateful for my opportunities to be a consultant in two widely different projects. My first project was primary research into the manufacturing industry to identify areas of improvement that my client target with their business. My second project involved market analysis of the diagnostics testing industry to guide business expansion and outreach for the client.

What led you so seek out milead?

I sought out miLEAD because I wanted to explore non-academic careers. I choose miLEAD because it could provide opportunities to gain consulting experience and expand my professional network.

Since joining miLEAD, what skills have you been able to develop?

Since joining miLEAD, I have refined many skills such as conciseness and clarity in communication and incorporating feedback. One of the more notable skills that my experience with miLEAD has taught me is the ability to anticipate and remain flexible to changing conditions. While I am still a novice at this skill, it has been incredibly helpful to be prepared for all situations whether it be changing deadlines or altering the direction of a project to better suit the client’s needs.

What has been one of your most rewarding experiences thus far working with miLEAD?

One of the most enjoyable aspects of working with miLEAD is the team-based approach to projects that has allowed me to meet and interact with graduate students and post-doctoral fellows across many different disciplines and backgrounds.
