We are happy to announce the 2nd annual Career Symposium, hosted by miLEAD Consulting
The symposium will be held Friday June 10th, 2022 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm in Palmer Commons at the University of Michigan.
miLEAD is hosting the Career Symposium to expose trainees at the University of Michigan to a variety of non-academic career paths and provide networking opportunities for those actively pursuing full and part time positions.
The day will consist of panel discussions with industry leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs with PhD backgrounds who themselves have made the transition from academia. In addition, a networking session with 20+ booths will allow companies to directly interface with trainees seeking job opportunities.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Mika Sovak, is the Vice President and Franchise Head of R&D at AstraZeneca. She is an MD, PhD by training who leads a program addressing therapeutic advancement for HER-2 positive tumors. Dr. Sovak has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for more than a decade at both Genentech and AstraZeneca and contributed to drug development from early phase trials to global filings. Dr. Sovak has earned an impressive array of awards and publications throughout her time in industry. She is also a champion of diversity and inclusion as she leads the Oncology Global Inclusion and Diversity Council at AstraZeneca and reinforces her values in her everyday work by building strong, collaborative, and diverse teams.
