How long were you a member of miLEAD? What positions did you hold?
4 years; Consultant, Project Manager, Director of Marketing, and Co-Lead of MHCC.
What was the most interesting project you were involved with while in milead?
The most interesting project I was involved with during my time in miLEAD was leading the Midwest Health Competition Challenge (MHCC) alongside a collaborative, multi-university team. From the initial sponsor pitches to developing new KPIs aimed at improving recruitment, and ultimately executing the international competition, the project was both complex and rewarding. It culminated in co-authoring a Nature Biotechnology Career feature with the founding MHCC team. This experience allowed me to develop and refine several key non-bench skills, including strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and scientific communication.
How did miLEAD help you obtain your current position?
miLEAD was instrumental in developing my leadership and project management skills, with tangible outcomes that demonstrated real impact.
What is your day-to-day life like in your current position?

What advice would you give to current or prospective miLEAD consultants?
I recommend current and prospective members get as involved as possible to develop and broaden your experiences. Pursuing an internship should be a top priority for those looking to explore and branch into industry.
